YouTube Made Me Buy/Reviews

I’m a bit of a YouTube fanatic. I watch everything from Tech to Beauty videos. Almost every skill I’ve acquired is as a result of watching YouTube videos. Now, with as many Beauty videos as I watch, its only natural that a lot of my beauty buys are influenced by them. And seeing as I was thinking of a good way to start off the beauty section of my blog, I figured I’d do the “YouTube Made Me Buy” thing (Inspired by Jackie Aina, my YouTube Aunty). Do your best to ignore more ratchet nails. Lets begin…Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetLA GIRL PRO CONCEALERS

I think at this point, almost everyone has these. Probably the most overexposed concealers of 2014/2015, but for good reason. I especially like that they have a good range of shades, even though they could work on making a couple of shades that are darker than “Mahogany”, simply because that usually doesn’t do much as a contour shade for darker skinned girls. Otherwise, they have amazing coverage and are really lightweight. I heard they work well as foundations as well so I might try that soon.Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetL’OREAL TRUE MATCH SUPER BLENDABLE POWDER

So before anyone attacks me, I know this is shade is lighter than my skin tone. I bought it as a setting powder for my highlight. I definitely shouldn’t have. The product itself is a really good one. Super matte and the consistency is amazing, it glides on great. BUT, super ASHY. I got this in warm but neutral is almost just as ashy. If you’re black and you don’t have a beige undertone, not for you. Great product, but don’t buy shit with your eyes closed, like I did.Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetMILANI BAKED BLUSH

I got this already having at the back of my mind that I wasn’t going to be as impressed as these YouTube gurus were about this. But, Yassssssssss. This actually lived up to the hype. I got this in “Rose D’oro” which is a rather Barbie shade for my taste but its so beautiful, I couldn’t resist. I usually don’t go for blushes with shimmer in them either but again, BEAUTIFUL.Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetL’OREAL TRUE MATCH & TRUE MATCH LUMI

Until I got these, I was struggling with finding a foundation with the perfect undertone for me. I jumped on the bandwagon rather late but I’m glad I did. I got TRUE MATCH first in N7, and it worked super well because it was winter time, but I have oily skin and as it got warmer, I had to find something that wouldn’t have me looking greasy, and I needed a summer shade. TRUE MATCH LUMI turned out to be a lot more matte, long lasting and less watery but still looked dewy enough, plus it comes in intermediary shades (I got mine in N7/N8) so I didn’t have to mix foundations or go too dark.Processed with VSCOcam with c1 presetELF MINERAL INFUSED FACE PRIMER

To be honest, this was just me being extra, I didn’t have to buy this. The product itself is okay, it works really well to fill in fine lines and wide pores but like I said, I have really oily skin, and this doesn’t do much to mattify or for oil control. I’d definitely recommend this if you have dry skin and want a bit of a dewy look or if you have large pores. But for oily/combination skin, not so much.

P.S comment and leave me some feedback, it would really help moving forward with more beauty related posts. Thanks😘
